How to create developer account in Facebook
Facebook has in built apps that you use while accessing. There are some other apps that are created by "Developers" in Facebook. For that the developers have created their own "Developer account" in Facebook.
If you are from "Programming" and software field and want to use your knowledge for creating apps in Facebook, you can do so by setting up as a "Facebook Developer".

With the use of this account, you can create different type of apps like games, music, photos, shopping, business, news, health and fitness, sports, travel, utilities, etc. The list doesn't end here.
To create any app in Facebook, the first step is to register a developer account. Some think that for creating an app, you can use a normal Facebook account. But this may lead to risk of exposing your app to your competitors. Better practice to create any app is first register yourself as a "Developer".
To create or setting up a Developer account in Facebook:
- Log In to your normal Facebook account
- Visit "Developer's Home Page"
- Click "Register Now"
- Accept the "Facebook Platform Policies"
- Next is to verify your account
- There you have to select your country code and phone number
- Then confirm them either by text message or receiving a call. Then click on "Continue" button
- Third step is to select the options of programming languages that you know and what type of apps you can create
- Click Continue
- The next step will send you a confirmation email
After you confirm your account from an email sent to you, then you will be actually be a "Facebook Developer". Now start your journey of creating different types of apps.

Google adds "Facebook Ads"
Two big competitors, Google and Facebook have announced yesterday, that the "Facebook Ads" will be sold by Google. Google's DoubleClick bid manager will sell Facebook ads which will be able for marketers to buy ads for Facebook's Ad exchange platform.
Google's DoubleClick is a type of ad technology foundation to create, transact and manage digital advertising for buyers, creators and sellers.
Google says, "Partnership has been key to Google�s success as a rising tide lifts all boats. So we�re excited to announce a new way to help our clients succeed by working with Facebook to participate in FBX, their real-time bidding exchange�we�re always looking at ways to serve our clients even better � starting in a few months, clients will be able to buy inventory on FBX via DoubleClick Bid Manager.�
The FBX was launched by Facebook in June 2012. This let advertisers to buy cookie based re-targeted ads on Facebook's site. Due to this, now the advertisers can go via Google's DoubleClick to purchase inventory.
Google added that FBX ad inventory would become available through its platform in the forthcoming months.

Facebook trick : How to upload a Doc or Excel or PDF file to Facebook Fan Page
Facebook fan page is a page that says more about a specific topic.
If you excel in a particular topic, and want to share it, then instead of status updates, simply creating a "Facebook Fan page" is a good idea. You gain more visitors who are interested in that topic and will like and share to others.
Facebook fan page consists of your links or topic wise discussions, images and videos. When you want to add any file to fan page then you can do so. Facebook trick to "Merge duplicate pages"
Do you own two or more Fan pages and are the admin of all of them? If the content is the same in all pages, then it is best to merge the pages in one single page where you can add new stuff and manage it.
Managing two or more pages will be critical for you.
When you click on the "Pages" option at the left side of your Facebook News Feed screen, the list of pages that you are admin of are listed. They show when you have last updated and when you have used them.
Merging those pages which have the same topic and updates according to you.
Before you merge the pages, some points should be kept in mind:
- You must be "Admin" of the pages that you are merging
- The page which has more likes then that should be your main page which should not be merged.
- When you merge pages, the likes will also get merged in the new page
- The content of page, like comments, photos, videos, images, etc which is going to be merged with other page which has most likes, will get lost and deleted.
- After merging is done, unmerge will not be possible.
Steps to merge pages :
- Go to your Dashboard
- Select Settings - Edit - Merge Pages
- Click on "Request to merge duplicate pages" option
- Check the box which says " I have read and understand the above information"
- Then choose the page you want to keep from the drop down box
- Check the box which says, " I understand that pages I merge must be about the same thing" option
- Then click "Send"
Note : 1. If your merging process is successful and if approved, Facebook will contact you.
2. Once done, cannot be undone
The merging of duplicate pages process is completed now. See to it that you don't request for merging every now and then.
How to add "New Email id" to your Facebook account
Whenever you log in to your Facebook account, you have your primary email stored with it. In case if you want to add a new email id to the account having already one email, then there is a trick to do so.
Another email can be added to the same Facebook account. Some settings have to be changed.
- Log in to your Facebook account
- Go to Settings -> General Settings
- Select "Email" option at the right of screen
- Click Edit option
- Your primary email id is already selected
- Click on "Add Another Email" option
- It will expand
- Type your second email id that you want to add
- Before clicking "Save Settings" option, enter the password
Facebook trick to open multiple accounts at the same time
Some people have more than one Facebook account. They use this technique to keep their personal and professional life different.
For example, businessman will have his personal id and professional id different. His professional id will be used for business and product promotional purposes. In this case, people want to know what is going on with his friends in their personal account id whereas simultaneously check what is the status of his product using Facebook fan page.
In Firefox, this is not possible, but people using Google Chrome browser have this facility to use many accounts at the same time.
One tab will be your personal account and the second tab will show your second account.
When you want to do so, just open Google Chrome browser. Log in to your first account in a tab, then click on the "Settings" option from Chrome browser. Another tab will open, you need to click on "Users" option and type the user name of second id in the text box provided. Then click on "Add New User" option.

Teenagers now have the choice to share their posts "publicly"
Facebook had restricted their "teen" users (ranging from 13 to 17 years old), to share their posts to public. Means that option was not available for teens using Facebook. They could share their posts to their "friends" or "friends of friends".
With the new changes in Facebook, now teens will be able to share their posts publicly.
According to Facebook, "teens are among the savviest people using social media, and whether it comes to civic engagement, activism, or their thoughts on a new movie, they want to be heard."
With this important change, teens will also be able to turn on "Follow" so that their public posts can be seen in people's News Feeds.
Facebook takes the safety of teens very seriously and hence they will see an extra reminder before they can share posts publicly. When they choose as "Public" , a reminder will be notified to them stating that the post can be seen by anyone before they post publicly.
Moreover, if they still continue to post publicly, they will get another reminder stating, "Sharing with public means anyone ".
Both these reminders will be displayed for them when sharing publicly. (Image shown besides).
As teens need some limitations on net, the privacy policy must be handled by them and by parents.
Facebook controls the privacy policy of teens. They say that with this change in privacy policy, teenagers will get more broader audience to their post if they are very helpful to others. Teens are our future, they would know and have better information in the topics like technology, future technology in medical line, upcoming mobile gadgets options that is less known to others, etc.

Facebook acquires Onavo
Facebook wants to speed up its mobile apps. It has acquired Onavo, an award winning Onavo mobile - utility apps.In the main news today, it is seen that Facebook wants to speed up mobile apps.
About Onavo: Onavo is a privately-held company based in Palo Alto, CA with backing from Sequoia Capital, Magma Venture Partners, Horizons Ventures and Motorola Mobility Ventures. This company was founded in 2010. It has developed apps and given services to a number of mobile centric areas. The main functionality of Onavo is data compression with application that extend limited mobile data allowances on mobile devices.
Facebook says, "We expect Onavo�s data compression technology to play a central role in our mission to connect more people to the internet, and their analytic tools will help us provide better, more efficient mobile products".
Onavo will work with members of Internet.org under the guidance of Facebook, to increase efficiency and lower the cost of internet access.

A new "Facebook Virus" spreads across social media
Scared about any virus attacking your Facebook account? There is recently stated in news updates that a Facebook virus named "Death Age" has spread across the social network.
A warning is being spread to inform Facebook users. A small snippet of the warning is stated as :
"ATTENTION EVERYONE WHO CAN SEE THIS PLEASE READ THERES A FACEBOOK VIRUS CALLES DEATH AGE A FIREY SKULL WITH THE AGE YOU SUPPOSEDLY LIVE UNTIL WITH ONE COMMENT TO A LINK DO NOT FOLLOW IT!!! IT POSTS TO EVERYTHING YOU BELONG TO I SWEAR TO EVERYTHING THATS TRUTH COPY, PASTE AND SHARE THIS POST HURRY IVE ALREADY BEEN INFECTED AND ITS POSTING ME EVERYWHERE AND ITS NOT ME"
But according to HoaxSlayer, this warning is misleading.
Instead it is about a rogue Facebook application which "could" post messages from your account with your permission to access your account.
According to HoaxSlayer's "Brief Analysis", it alludes to a spammy Facebook application, not a virus. The app will not "infect" accounts just because users click a link.
But this doesn't mean that you can sit back relaxed and just make this warning or news pass by. Being careful about what applications you allow to connect with your Facebook profile will help in preventing any type of virus affecting your account.

Introducing Facebook for Android "Alpha Testing Program"
Newly introduced Facebook in Android's testing program, there is a process going on to know feedback of Android users. For this they launched a new program named as "Alpha Testing Program".

Facebook modifies "Privacy Settings" - Everyone is searchable on Facebook now
Facebook has made some changes in the Privacy settings of its users. Tweaked the settings, due to which now everyone on Facebook is searchable. No one can completely hide themselves.
You must have seen this option in the settings - �Who can look up your Timeline by name?�.
This option will be completely removed in the coming weeks. Now all Facebook users will be searchable with the use of Facebook's Graph Search. Graph search is one such tool on the entire social media sites that allows you to search for anyone with specific interests or likes or posts or comments.
The current "Privacy Settings" is as shown below:

So now , "Who can look up your Timeline by name?"- its the users whom you have not blocked.
When you post on your timeline, you can set the post or update for limited users like public, friends, only me and custom settings.
When you set the post as "Public", that post will be visible and searchable by all through Graph search.
Posts that you don't want others to see or search should be hidden and set as "Friends" or "only me" or you can use "Custom".
As stated in my earlier post, Graph search now is making every post in Facebook transparent and all posts with likes and comments are searchable.
People who have seen this option of "Who can look up your Timeline by name?", have came to know that it was created when Facebook was merely a simple directory of profiles. Means when Facebook was just a new born baby, at that time this setting used to work for searching profiles with names and their timelines.
Now you may have a question reminding you while reading this post is, "When you will know when the setting is removed?". Answer for your question is that if this option is still available on your Facebook, then you may see a notice on your homepage like this:
When you see this notice, you can either "Know more" or "Remind Later".
To avoid this or to make your posts visible only to some set of people, then you can make it so by setting it using the option,"Limit the audience for your posts".
When you set the limitations of the visibility to audience, then you can avoid Facebook Stalking too.
Hence post anything on Facebook, but remember to set "Privacy settings" while hitting the "POST" button.
